[Clug-work] Encryption on postgres database

Dear All
 
On our postgres database the clients passwords are still stored in plein text which in this day and age is unacceptable.
 
I am looking for somebody who has experience in encrypting certain columns on a postgres database,
ideally we should not just encrypt the column, but the whole connection to the server.
