Job Description
We are looking for a talented support engineer.
Our company is the provider of an open-access fibre optic network that
offers first-world connectivity for the supply of broadband, voice and
multimedia services.
Summary:
As part of the Support Team it will be your responsibility to provide
efficient customer support, on a 24/7 basis.
Our customer base consists of large international ISPs and other service
providers within the telco industry.
As a member of the Support team based in Century City you will:
Work for the world leader in open-access fibre optic networks
Be part of a team that are obsessed with how to provide world-class
support to customers
Be confronted by challenges and engineering on a scale found nowhere else
Be a self-starter who is excited about technology
Escalate and coordinate complex issues or suspected bugs to the network
manager .
Provide response and resolution to problems within agreed SLA targets.
As this is a 24×7 operation, you must be open to working non-standard
hours depending on your assigned schedule. You must also be prepared for a
non-standard weekend/weekday in the case of emergencies or outages.
Minimum qualifications:
You should be an expert (3-5 years of progressive hands-on experience) in
Linux and/or Cisco administration. You should also have strong networking
and virtualization skills and experience.
Experience in Linux is a plus as well as experience with Extreme switches
and GPON equipment.
Prior experience within a Telco environment will also count in your favour.
Salary is negotiable CTC with benefits and extras.
