*Position Overview*
The Senior Developer's (SD) role is to write software code, test, write
Unit Tests, debug and analyse software programs and applications based
on Product Management requirements, as per specification. This includes
researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software
specifications throughout the production life cycle. Furthermore, the
Senior Developer allocates and coordinates and supervises the work of
Developers in order to achieve the outcomes from an agreed upon quality,
time and cost perspective. The SD plays a significant role in mentoring
and guiding less experienced Developers.
The SD will also analyse and amend software errors in a timely and
accurate fashion as per agreed upon metric, and provide status reports
where required.**Furthermore, the SD works closely with both the Testers
as well as the Systems Analyst in order to ensure the code meets the
required technical specifications and standards.
The SD will assist with Technical Infrastructural work as required in
order to support the day to day running of the company's computing
infrastructure.
*Education and Other Requirements*

Matric
*Higher Education*
Ideally, a degree, diploma or certificate in information systems,
computer science or other relevant discipline from an accredited school.
*Other Requirements*
* Minimum 5 years solid Delphi development experience;
* Previous experience in software development;
* Excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices
* Relational database and operating systems experience
* Understanding of development for the Windows 32 bit platform.
* Able to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and with
members of interdisciplinary teams
* Hands-on experience developing unit test cases an advantage
* Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new
technologies
* Keen attention to detail
* Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a
high-pressure environment and tight timeframes;
* Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented,
collaborative environment
