Web/Database Integrator

Our company, situated in Cape Town, is a developer, manufacturer and implementer of a radio/GSM based systems which collects data from multiple remote sites. The remote data is automatically captured in a MySQL database from where a web front-end interacts with the database to display the data in many customized formats to a large client base.

 

We want to be more responsive to our clients, improving quality of solutions, and developing and engaging the best people around. In doing that implies improved data presentation, automating, integrating and optimizing business assets, which is difficult if we haven't set things up properly.

 

In order to achieve our goals we are looking for a post grad BSc Computer Science candidate (preferably Masters) to take charge of the software division within our company and with the following proven experience and qualities:

 

 

1. MySQL database maintenance, querying and development

2. Web data integration using data in MySQL (Java or Silverlight)

3. Visual Studio, Dot Net framework for Windows Mobile and other custom software development

4. C and C++ capabilities will be an advantage (State which other programming languages familiar with)

5. A basic understanding of radio/electronic technology and/or remote sensing technology will be an advantage, but not a prerequisite

6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

7. Ability to work both as part of a team and independently

8. Ability to communicate and interact productively with remote teams

9. Be innovative, energetic and self-driven

 

 

Remuneration is market related based on experience. If successful, we offer you a 3 month 'probation' period, after which a permanent position will be considered. We offer a friendly environment with loads of growth potential.
