I have to agree with Hendrick about the the bios been slow to boot 
(maybe that may count in your favour too you and / or client, in buying 
time of justyfing the boot time).

Dont get me wrong gentoo's great and will work (as im sure others will 
too), but look at damnsmalllinux.
