The Free Software Innovation Unit (FSIU) at the University of the
Western Cape (http://www.uwc.ac.za) is looking for a couple of n00bs
that would like to get into wxPython.
You should be able to:
1. Code some Python and / or wxPython
2. Have a huge willingness to learn and grow
3. Not be scared of writing software that will be used by thousands of
academics all over Africa
4. Be passionate
5. Not have any issues releasing GPL licensed code
The rest we will coach you through.
If you know some basic Python, we will teach you wxPython, but you
really should be able to code at least a working Python object.
If you are interested in kicking off your career in software
development, or are an old hat at this stuff looking to make some extra
dough on the side, please send me a mail or a link to something that you
have done. I don't care much for CV's, but a brief paragraph on who you
are and why you are right for the job is more than enough.
If you insist on sending a CV/Resume, *please* make it in .odt or PDF
formats. M$ docs will be discarded.
The contract will initially be a 3 month deal with an option to extend
it as the project grows.
