Environment is a consulting engineering company. Its a good learning
environment because you get to work on everything, and the users are
mostly intelligent. Its a mixed Windows/Linux network, with Linux servers
slowly eclipsing Windows servers. the job is in Cape Town, but we have a
WAN extending all over the country (we install and manage the routers and

Job Specification:

Installation, upgrade and management of servers (Windows and Linux).
Manage MS Exchange email servers (and ultimately its replacement)
Manage local area network, points and switches.
Monitor wide area network connections.
Manage Backups and Archives
Supervision of PC Installations.
First line hardware support
OS and application software support.
Set up and management of License servers.

Qualifications

MSCE/LPI or equivalent or better.
Min 5 years experience.

Skills Required.

Knowledge of TCP/IP
Windows networking
Windows Server
Knowledge of backup technologies.
Linux, especially Samba.

Advantageous Skills

IMAP servers, especially Cyrus.
SMTP servers, esp Postfix/Exim
Apache and IIS.
Anti-virus and anti-spam technologies.
VPN technologies.
Knowledge of engineering software (Autocad, etc)
