It is unlikely that much of Microsoft's patent arsenal would stand up
in court due to prior art or lack of originality and novelty. The US
Patent Office has granted thousands of patents it should not have.

So Microsoft probably doesn't want to test its claim that GNU/Linux
infringes any Microsoft patents.

Instead it wants to spread Fear Uncertainty and Doubt among corporate
Chief Information Officers.

But there is every reason to believe that OSS (and GNU/Linux in
