Subject: [CLUG-chat] SuSE 10 root problem

A friend is having trouble installing SuSE 10. On his laptop it worked
fine, but desktop doesn't. Basically his problem is that the installer
doesn't ask him for the details of the root user, so he then doesn't
know what the password is for the root user. It's not the same as his
normal user.

Is there any way of getting around this or is there a default password?

Also can one get Ubuntu 5 DVD from the Freedom Toaster and which Toaster
is working? Or is someone willing to make a copy?

Boot into single user mode (run level 1) and reset the root password!
